The images on this site capture examples of the beauty, diversity, humanity and complexity of our world. Their subjects range from wide landscapes and seascapes taken in places like New Zealand and Antarctica, to close-ups of historical artifacts, people, wild animals, flora, etc. across all the continents.

The website shares photographs using two different approaches. First are galleries for various Subjects (e.g., Seascapes, Birds, Flora). When you click on a photo In a Subject gallery, it enlarges and has “what and where” identifying information under it.

A second set of galleries is for Places (e.g., Antarctica, Tanzania). At the beginning of each gallery for a “Place” - one or more areas in a country - a narrative provides an abbreviated travelogue/story and context for all of the following images.

Some images in a Subject gallery are also in a Place gallery, while others appear only once as they are from a location that is not covered by a Place gallery.
